Shri Amrishbhai Patel, current President and Trustee of Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal, started his glorious journey into the fields of social work and politics by becoming the co-opt member of Nagarpalika at the insistence of locals and later contesting for elections and successfully becoming the President. His contribution and effort have had a profound impact on the development of Shirpur, a taluka center on the outskirts of Maharastra and Madhya Pradesh. The trusts headed by Shri Amrishbhai Patel have set up in Shirpur and surrounding villages, 69 schools and 13 colleges including those for Engineering, Management, Pharmacy and Textile. These institutions offer education to as many as 32000 students. These institutes of SVKM are over and above these institutes.

In the field of education in Mumbai also, Shri Amrishbhai Patel’s entrepreneurship and efforts have yielded unprecedented results. Shri Vile Parle Kedavani Mandal (SVKM) headed by him is a leading educational trust which has, more than 39,000 students studying in various institutes, along with the ever-popular ‘NMIMS deemed university’. Apart from Mumbai, this University has campuses in Bangaluru, Hyderabad, Shirpur and Chandigarh. At all these centers new courses are regularly introduced. The University has also undertaken exchange programme of faculty-student-curriculum with other institutes in India and abroad.

Shri Amrishbhai Patel’s emphasis has always been on practical aspects in the field of education such as research, employment, an individual’s all-round development and most importantly faculty’s evaluation too is accorded equal importance under his governance.  Although faced with numerous challenges in both personal and professional life, Shri Amrishbahi Patel’s pragmatic approach, years of experience and farsighted vision have truly pushed SVKM beyond the threshold of excellence and set an example to be looked upon and to be inspired from.
